Gale Sayers Speech from "Brian's Song"

Running backs Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers arrived at the Chicago Bears together in 1965. Sayers, the No.1 draft pick, Pic the undrafted free agent. Sayers found immediate stardom and a best friend.... Piccolo made the team and when Sayers was injured, took his spot. But within 5 seasons, Brian Piccolo was stricken with cancer and died in June 1970. Not long before his death, Sayers received a courage award for his comeback from knee injuries. He dedicated the award to his dying friend. Sayers is played by Billy Dee Williams; James Caan was Brian Piccolo in this 1971 TV film. more>>
